I have been practicing Qigong and Thai Chi with Shifu Long for nearly 10 years and think he is the best teacher one could have - always with a positive attitude, patient, understanding and supportive, open-minded, tailoring his approach depending on the individual learning abilities and needs. After every class I feel calmer, more peaceful and full of positive energy. And long-term benefits of Qigong have been amazing - reduced stress levels, better sleep, more focus and concentration, younger-looking skin, shinier and fuller hair - and overall, much better health. Since joining Shifu Longs class in 2015, my life has changed dramatically. Shifu fixed a long term knee injury to an extent that I completely forgot I had it and it allowed me to practice Kung Fu and Muay Thai without any problems. The practice of Qigong and Taiji over the years gave me tools to release and control my anxiety and eliminated my lower back pain. I also enjoy the sense of community in our group. I also enjoy Shifu's knowledge of the historical origins and anecdotes connected to Martial Arts in general. I will be practicing what I have learned in class for the rest of my life!

As a mainly Shaolin Kung Fu student, joining Shifu Long's classes part-time has allowed me to branch out of the usual Shaolin teachings to try a variety of different Kung Fu styles, as he teaches so many. So far he has been teaching me Bajiquan, but I plan to learn more styles from him, step by step. I find his lessons highly interesting as he mixes form practice and combat application very well. He teaches movements that are effective for self defence on the street. His decades of experience are obvious and I am excited to begin learning more styles I have seen him teach other students, such as Bagua and sword forms. While he is a great teacher and powerful fighter, he is also kind and compassionate, often helping massage our injuries and checking up on our wellbeing. I highly recommend Shifu Long to anybody wishing to learn Kung Fu or benefit their health.

I started seeing Long after he helped my mother to recover from terrible knee and hip trouble. Because of Long's good work she is transformed and in far better shape, without needing the surgery. I've been a student of Shifu Yan Long Jiang for ten years now, It has been a life changing experience. I've learnt alot about my self and the art of the traditional various forms known for Chinese kung fu and Qigong. Learning from 5th generation master himself has made me more aware of my personal health and wellbeing. Training with Sifu Long is a life-enriching movie-like experience, an all round master expert in combat, tai chi, chi kung, philosophy as well as in healing practices. He shows a genuine interest for the growth and wellbeing of his students both in the disciplines he teaches as well as in their personal growth. His ability to tailor the classes on the needs of the student is remarkable, every session feels like a step ahead in my journey and overall I feel more "centred" and more "intuitive" both in the disciplines and in life. After years of training in other schools in UK, i can tell that being a Sifu Long's student is very different, i have now the chance to explore the disciplines at a deeper level and benefit more from the teachings of the very sophisticated traditional chinese culture. Last but not least, i found Sifu being very friendly, relaxed and very far from the ego-driven approach that is very common in the martial arts schools.

During the time I was afforded the privilege of training under Sifu Long, I was introduced to a completely different philosophy from what I was used to coming from a more external and ‘westernised’ MA background. I soon realised I was then practicing under someone who is an ambassador to an authentic and original Kung Fu style he bares from direct lineage passed down from generations before him. A recommendation paragraph is insufficient to even begin to describe the wealth of knowledge Sifu Long holds in his field so I can only shorten it by confirming he is highly competent as well as a truly amazing person.

I have been training in martial arts since the age of 10, having trained in Judo, Okinawan Karate and Japanese Jujutsu. I started training with Master Yanlong in 2014,with him instructing me in Wu Taiji, Bagua and Bajiquan. Master Yanlong is the most knowledgeable, martial art, and Chi gong master I have ever trained with. His in-depth knowledge and explanations of techniques and purpose are exemplary. Sparring with him has made putting into practice the techniques shown in the forms most realistic. Not only is Master Yanlong great Martial Arts instructor, he has a good knowledge of Tuina and the health benefits of QIGong. My Martial arts, fitness and health have been enhanced since training with him and his friendly and modest manner coupled with his integrity as a teacher make him worthy of the title Master. Having trained in fitness and martial arts for many years, I highly recommend Master Yanlong.

Long brings his natural warmth, generosity and strength to his teaching of Tai Chi, Qigong and all the forms. It’s a practice steeped in classical knowledge with ancient roots and Long spent his formative years in China learning from masters. When I broke both my arms Long was instrumental in my recovery back to full strength. Practising Tai Chi also restored my ability to concentrate and focus to pre-smartphone levels. Qigong builds energy and general wellbeing. Long is a friendly, dedicated and authentic teacher.
